A tragic incident unfolded on the northern Gold Coast, claiming the life of a young child and leaving another injured. A devastating car crash early in the morning resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy, while a one-year-old was rushed to the hospital with injuries.

The accident was reported to police shortly after 5 a.m. AEST, prompting officers to respond to Burnside Road, where the crash had occurred. Initial investigations suggest that a witness to the crash played a pivotal role by assisting a 22-year-old woman and the three-year-old boy from the vehicle, subsequently taking them to the Beenleigh Police Station.

Tragically, the three-year-old boy became unresponsive and passed away in the foyer of the police station, despite efforts to save him. This heartbreaking turn of events has undoubtedly left the community in shock.

Meanwhile, it was reported that a 24-year-old man from Beenleigh, also believed to have been involved in the crash, left the scene with a one-year-old boy before law enforcement arrived. The police later located both the man and the child at a residence in Beenleigh around 6:30 a.m.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash as they piece together the events leading up to this tragic loss. The community mourns as they await more details about the incident and the condition of the injured child.
