In Canberra’s inner north, a tragic incident led to the arrest of a man following the fatal stabbing of a woman inside a residence this morning.

Emergency services responded to reports from Dryanda Street in O’Connor, where a 51-year-old man allegedly attacked a family member with a knife.

Despite being urgently transported to the hospital, the woman succumbed to her injuries before arrival.

Additionally, another resident of the house was hospitalized with injuries related to the altercation.

The 51-year-old suspect was apprehended at the location and is currently hospitalized under police supervision.
