Shots were fired at three people standing near a parked car at 3pm, police say.

Emergency services were then called to a car fire in nearby Haughton Street, Carramar.

Soon after, a 20-year-old man was arrested.

About 9.10am, a 30-year-old man was arrested at a home in Lidcombe.

Both men were arrested and brought to Bankstown Police Station where they faced charges including attempting to murder by shooting, destroying property as part of a group, using fire to cause damage exceeding $5000, discharging a firearm into a building or onto enclosed lands, and participating in a criminal group to contribute to criminal activities.
