Two men, aged 20 and 30, have been charged over an alleged gangland shooting in Sydney last year.
The alleged daylight attack on Khoder Hamdan, 19, unfolded in Chisholm Road in Auburn in the city’s west on October 23.
One of the men allegedly accidentally set himself alight while torching a getaway car following the botched hit.
Shots were fired at three people standing near a parked car at 3pm, police say.
Emergency services were then called to a car fire in nearby Haughton Street, Carramar.
At 6.15am today in Guildord a car was seized which will be forensically examined.
Soon after, a 20-year-old man was arrested.
About 9.10am, a 30-year-old man was arrested at a home in Lidcombe.
Both men were arrested and brought to Bankstown Police Station where they faced charges including attempting to murder by shooting, destroying property as part of a group, using fire to cause damage exceeding $5000, discharging a firearm into a building or onto enclosed lands, and participating in a criminal group to contribute to criminal activities.
The younger man was also charged with fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.
It will be alleged that the men were involved in shooting at the other three men and later set fire to the car in Haughton Street.
They have both been refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
