In a recent development, a former pastor from South Carolina, John Paul Miller, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to cyberstalking his ex-wife in the lead-up to her tragic death.

The indictment was announced on Thursday in Columbia, implicating the former Myrtle Beach pastor, aged 46, in a prolonged campaign of harassment towards his ex-wife, Mica Miller. The allegations suggest that Miller bombarded Mica with a barrage of unwanted and distressing messages.

Details from the indictment reveal that the cyberstalking began in November 2022 and persisted until April 27, 2024, coinciding with Mica’s untimely death, as reported by WRAL.

Among the accusations, Miller is said to have disseminated explicit images of Mica online, installed tracking devices on her car, and vandalized her tires.

Furthermore, there are claims of Miller engaging in abusive behavior, stalking Mica, and allegedly grooming her from a young age within the church setting.

As previously reported by CrimeOnline, Mica Miller died by suicide at Lumber River State Park in North Carolina while she and Miller were in the midst of divorce proceedings.

Beyond the stalking charges, the indictment claims that Miller provided false statements during interviews with federal agents.

For the cyberstalking charges, Miller could face a maximum of five years, WRAL reported. He is also looking at possibly two years for the false statements he provided. The fines he could incur could reach up to $250,000

John Miller is scheduled in federal court in Florence for his arraignment on January 12, 2026.
