On Thursday, the nation announced that Iranian drones targeted its Nakhchivan exclave, resulting in injuries to four civilians and damage to an airport facility. Iran has denied any involvement in the drone attack. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev condemned the act, labeling it as “a groundless act of terror and aggression.” He further stated that the military has been directed “to prepare and implement retaliatory measures.”

In response, the southern airspace sector has been closed.
