Is travel time longer for flights that avoid the Middle East?
Travelers heading to Europe from Australia might find that flights passing through Singapore and other Asian hubs offer a quicker journey than those routed through the Middle East.
When flying via Middle Eastern cities such as Dubai or Doha, the journey can stretch to about 24-26 hours. This extended duration is often due to the need to navigate around restricted airspace and the occasional congestion at these bustling airports.
On the other hand, opting for a route through Asia—via Singapore, Hong Kong, or Tokyo—can cut travel time to between 22 and 24 hours. This efficiency is largely because these routes, particularly those in northern Asia, circumvent the restricted zones in the Middle East, allowing for a more direct flight path to Europe.
