Freddie Steward – 7 Displayed skill with an early kick and follow-up pass under pressure. Unfortunately, he did not return after leaving for a head injury assessment, giving way to Marcus Smith.

Tom Roebuck – 7.5 Showed relentless energy chasing kicks throughout the match, ultimately scoring the try that secured England’s victory.

Ollie Lawrence – 8 Sparked England’s comeback with a brilliant try from scrum play and reinforced his performance with a crucial defensive turnover.

Fraser Dingwall – 7.5 Nice deception to play in Sam Underhill. Steve Borthwick sees him as a ‘glue’ player and he scored from neat Lawrence pass.

Immanuel Feyi-Waboso – 7.5 A real bright spark for England in tough first half. At last, he had some ball in space and showed how dangerous he is.

George Ford – 9 Executed two drop goals brilliantly on the verge of the break to keep his team in touch despite being under huge pressure. Had try ruled out but outstanding 50:22. Man of the match for masterclass display.

Alex Mitchell – 6.5 Poor decision to kick away possession when in good attacking position. Some good use of boot to ball otherwise.

Fin Baxter – 7 His part in a huge England scrum surge in the 49th minute won a penalty. Ellis Genge came on as part of ‘Pom Squad’ and had big impact.

Jamie George – 4 Three first-half line-out throws couldn’t find their targets and it summed up a day that wasn’t one of his best. Substituted early in the second half.

Joe Heyes – 7 First time taking on the All Blacks and he must wonder what all the fuss is about. He’s really growing into the No 3 shirt.

Maro Itoje (capt) – 6 Bright orange boots but New Zealand targeted England at the line-out. Not one of his stand-out performances but won’t care a jot after huge win.

Alex Coles – 6 Looked destined to score when he crashed on to a short ball a yard from the line. Still not sure how he was held up.

Guy Pepper – 7 Third straight autumn start reflects how highly he is rated. Penalised for entering a ruck from the wrong side but offers good line-out option.

Sam Underhill – 7.5 Set tone with big early shot and crashed over in the second half. Get that man an enhanced England contract!

Ben Earl – 7 Player of the match against both Australia and Fiji and a standout once again. He’s hugely dynamic and never stops working. Blotted copybook with yellow card.

Will Jordan – 7 Such a silky runner. He glides effortlessly over the turf and his lines caused trouble for the England defence. Moved to 45 tries in 53 Tests with second-half score.

Leroy Carter – 3 Bounced off Lawrence who scored. Should have done better. Showed some promise in attack but dropped second half ball.

Billy Proctor – 4 Not much joy and comfortably outplayed by opposite number Lawrence.

Quinn Tupaea – 4 Long ball found Codie Taylor to score but didn’t make it past the hour mark.

Leicester Faingaʻanuku – 7.5 He’s been a real revelation for his team at 13 but on the wing here. Showed good power to score from close range. Packed down on the flank when his team were a man light.

Beauden Barrett – 2 One of the best in the world, but showed he’s human when he spilled a Ford spiral bomb and kicked dead. Really poor by his usually high standards.

Cam Roigard – 7 Fine 50:22 kick set platform for his team’s second try and did brilliantly to hold up Coles. Looked battered when replaced by Cortez Ratima.

Ethan de Groot – 4 The scrum was an even enough battle in the first half but he didn’t reappear for the second period. Replaced by Tamaiti Williams.

Codie Taylor – 6 Always good for a try and at it again here. He was yellow carded for playing the ball on the ground when tackling Marcus Smith. It seemed harsh.

Fletcher Newell – 5 He’s a really strong scrummager but had his hands full with a strong England pack.

Scott Barrett (capt) – 5 Back from injury to lead his country. Spoke pre-match about the demons of losing to England in 2019 and will have more bad memories now.

Josh Lord – 5.5 Late replacement for Fabian Holland who withdrew on the eve of kick-off with illness and immediately won line-out ball. Helped Roigard stop Coles.

Simon Parker – 5 Forced to make way due to Taylor’s yellow card and it summed up a tough afternoon.

Ardie Savea – 6.5 A trademark breakdown steal stopped an England attack in its tracks but not as impactful as usual.

Peter Lakai – 7 A young back-row of real promise. Got through a mountain of work and everything he did was done with aplomb.
