Trump has introduced a 20-point strategy aimed at resolving the Israel-Hamas conflict and setting up a post-conflict administration in the devastated Palestinian region. This plan proposes the formation of a provisional governing board led by Trump, along with former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.
The initiative suggests that residents should not be displaced from Gaza and advocates for an immediate cessation of hostilities if both parties agree. It also stipulates the release of all remaining hostages within 72 hours upon Israel’s acceptance of the terms.
This comprehensive 21-point agenda includes ending Hamas’s governance in Gaza and calls for the disbandment of the militant faction, as informed by officials aware of the proposal. Additionally, the plan involves the release of numerous Palestinians serving life sentences by Israel.
The plan also includes the establishment of an international security force to take over law enforcement in postwar Gaza, they said.
A team of Palestinian technical experts would manage the civic operations in the area, with future authority transitioning to a rejuvenated Palestinian Authority, according to sources. However, Netanyahu has dismissed any involvement for the authority, which is globally acknowledged as the Palestinian representatives, in the aftermath of the conflict in Gaza.
A representative from Hamas mentioned that the organization has been informed about the endeavor but has yet to receive an official proposal from Egyptian and Qatari intermediaries. Historically, the group has consistently refused to disarm, asserting that their armament is tied to the creation of a sovereign Palestinian nation.
