Charlie asked Kelsey how she’s been doing and she replied: ‘That’s a hard question to answer but I’m doing okay. I’m really strong and getting through each day.

It’s really tough, obviously I’ve got two kids and we are actually a really happy house. My kids wake up laughing so I am

‘Don’t get me wrong it is tough, it’s eight weeks since we lost him but I’m getting there each day’

When discussing the book and his story, Kelsey said: ‘Tom was this guy from Bolton that didn’t have a lot of training and then launched himself into this boyband and that in itself is amazing

‘When he was diagnosed they told him this is it, it’s terminal stage four and I said Tom we’ve just got to get through this, we’ve got to be as positive as possible and draw on everything we can’

‘We lived each day, we had hope and we had love and laughter

Tom wrote in his book that he felt everything was being pushed on to Kelsey to which she responded: ‘Obviously I was 25 weeks pregnant with Bodhi when he was diagnosed and we were just on this whirlwind

‘Even the labor I don’t really remember because I knew Tom had radio and chemo the next day

‘Every day we just went for it and I think it was really hard for Tom because he felt bad for Bodhi that he didn’t get what Aurelia got in the beginning. I think he struggled with the connection and he felt awful

Kelsey detailed how strong they both were for their family: ‘For us we decided this was a really bad situation, how can we get through it. Everything was hope and research. ‘Me and Tom were really honest and open and we were best friends, we’ve been together for so long but I couldn’t relate to him because I’ve never been through this

‘I needed to find someone who Tom could relate to so I found Dave, he’s an inspiration, he’s 8 year into this disease and they would call and could relate to each other
