FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old from Palm Coast lost his life on Monday night after his motorcycle collided with a deer in Flagler County and he was subsequently struck by an automobile, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal wreck happened around 9:35 p.m. on State Road 100 near Briarwood Drive, northeast of Bunnell.

The FHP reported that the young man was heading west on S.R. 100 when a deer suddenly appeared in his path. The motorcycle’s front tire hit the deer, causing the motorcycle to skid off the right lane and come to rest in the grass beyond the right paved shoulder.

The man ended up in the left travel lane, and the deer was thrown into a ditch, according to an FHP crash report.
