President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has criticised the lack of “real responses” from the international community following yet another large-scale Russian attack involving drones, bombs and missiles against Ukraine.
“Unfortunately, there is no adequate, strong reaction from the world to everything that is happening,” Zelenskyy said in his daily video address, noting the increasing scale and audacity of the attacks.
“This is exactly why (Russian President Vladimir) Putin does it: he simply laughs at the West, at its silence and the absence of decisive countermeasures.”
Zelenskyy stated that Russia has so far rejected all proposals to end the war or at least halt the attacks.

“Russia is intentionally attempting to dismantle our civilian infrastructure, particularly focusing on gas facilities, power generation, and transmission as winter approaches,” he stated.

The Russian military attacked Ukraine overnight with 53 missiles and several waves of drones.
Five people were killed and 18 others were injured across the country, Ukrainian authorities said.
Four people, including a 15-year-old, died in a combined drone and missile strike on Lviv, according to regional officials and Ukraine’s emergency service.
It was the largest aerial assault on the city and surrounding region since Russia’s full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022, according to Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the local military administration.

Earlier in the war, the western city of Lviv was seen as a haven from the fighting and destruction farther east.

In a Telegram post, Kozytskyi said Russia launched about 140 Shahed drones and 23 ballistic missiles across the region.
At least six more people were injured, according to a statement by Ukraine’s police force.
The strike left two districts of Lviv without power and disrupted public transportation for a few hours early on Sunday, mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported.

He mentioned that after the strike, a business complex on the outskirts of Lviv was set ablaze, noting that it was a civilian site unrelated to Ukraine’s military operations.

Zelenskyy on Sunday also lamented that the Russian attack drones contained components “that are still being supplied from Western countries and various neighbouring countries of Russia”.
He expressed astonishment that, even after more than three and a half years of war, it remains unclear how to halt the supply of these critical parts.
“The nearly 500 drones that the Russians used overnight contain more than 100,000 components manufactured abroad,” Zelenskyy claimed.
