Bad Bunny jokes about Super Bowl gig while hosting ‘SNL’

Bad Bunny Quips About Potential Super Bowl Performance During 'SNL' Hosting Gig

Bad Bunny had some new material for his second “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig — dropping jokes about his upcoming Super Bowl halftime show.

“I think everybody is happy about it — even Fox News,” he kidded, referencing uproar on the conservative network about the NFL’s choice.

The segment then switched to a rapid montage of various Fox News personalities declaring, bit by bit, “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.”

The artist, born in Puerto Rico and legally known as Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, gave a short speech in Spanish about the Super Bowl appearance. He emphasized, referencing Latinos and Spanish speakers, that it was “an achievement for everyone, showing that our influence and contribution to this country can never be removed or erased by anyone.”

He followed with: “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn!”

During his second time hosting “SNL,” Bad Bunny featured in multiple sketches, including one where he played a passionate “KPop Demon Hunters” enthusiast. This sketch showcased a surprise live rendition of the movie’s hit song, “Golden,” performed by stars Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami.

The episode also saw the return of James Austin Johnson as President Trump, who remarked that the current season was “off to a rough start” and observed that “late night TV” posed the biggest threat to America.

“I’m just here keeping my eye on ‘SNL,’ making sure they don’t say anything too mean about me,” Johnson’s Trump said.
