A Glynn County police officer has been implicated in an incident at the Odyssey Lake apartment complex, according to allegations made by the Glynn County Police Department.
GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — In a recent development, authorities arrested a Glynn County officer on Thursday following an incident that caused property damage at a Brunswick apartment complex, as reported by the Glynn County Police Department.
The department disclosed that officers were dispatched to Odyssey Lake apartments, situated off Grants Ferry Road, to respond to a property damage report around 4:10 p.m.
Upon their arrival, the officers identified Officer Johnell D. Leggett, aged 25, as a participant in the incident, according to the department.
The Glynn County Police Department stated that its Major Crimes Unit was subsequently called to the scene to further the investigation. Their inquiry led to Leggett’s arrest on charges of disorderly conduct, categorized as a misdemeanor.
Following these events, Leggett has been placed on administrative leave without pay while the investigation is ongoing, as noted by the police department.
The release states that GCPD’s Office of Professional Standards and Accountability will conduct a “concurrent investigation” into the incident.
