Dem Governor Pritzker Confirms Trump to Deploy Illinois National Guardsmen - but to Where?

For those who haven’t been disconnected from the world recently, Chicago’s troubles are no secret. With a succession of mayors lacking competence, the city has struggled with rampant crime and become a refuge for undocumented immigrants, thanks to its “sanctuary” status.

The Trump administration responded by dispatching Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) to tackle this issue, but has encountered significant resistance from leftist demonstrators. President Trump has even hinted at deploying additional federal officers or the military to help resolve the situation.

So, when Illinois Governor JB Pritzker raised concerns on Saturday about the Trump administration’s decision to activate 300 members of the Illinois National Guard, it raised questions about their intended destination and purpose, particularly regarding Chicago.

The Trump administration plans to federalize 300 members of the Illinois National Guard, Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker said Saturday.

Pritzker reported that the Guard had been notified that morning by the Pentagon about their deployment, though he did not reveal specifics about the timing or location. President Donald Trump has consistently shown inclination towards deploying troops to Chicago.

Pritzker commented, “This morning, the Trump Administration’s Department of War issued an ultimatum: activate your troops, or we will.” He declared it unacceptable and contrary to American principles to demand military deployment against a governor’s wishes within state borders.

However, Governor, the reality is that a major city in your state is in crisis, with volatile individuals disrupting and even attacking federal agents performing their legal duties. Your foremost responsibility is safeguarding the freedom and property of Illinois’s residents, a duty in which you appear to be falling short.
