Boyd County Woman Charged in Death of Toddler

An investigation into the death of a 2-year-old has led to the arrest of a Boyd County woman.

The Kentucky State Police responded to a report of an unresponsive juvenile in the 1500 block of Greentree Court on February 14.

Brittney Copodonna

Police reported finding a two-year-old unresponsive at the scene. First responders immediately provided medical assistance. Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and transported the toddler to an area hospital, where the child was later pronounced dead.

Fentanyl was found in the room where the child was found, according to a search warrant.

Brittney Copodonna,33, was arrested on March 23 after being indicted on March 21.

Copodonna was accused of causing another person’s death by recklessly engaging in conduct that created a substantial risk of death or serious physical injury. She is being held at the Boyd County Detention Center on a $100,000 bail.
