Caitlyn Jenner asked Trump for help correcting the gender on passport

Caitlyn Jenner recently shared that she reached out to Donald Trump in a direct plea for assistance after her passport mistakenly reverted her gender designation to male.

The 76-year-old Olympic gold medalist explained that despite having all her legal documents updated to reflect her gender transition, her identification was incorrectly marked with an ‘M’ for male.

‘Today, documentation is extremely important. Every time you turn around, you gotta show ID, ID, ID,’ Jenner said during an appearance on Tomi Lahren’s podcast.

“As someone who has undergone a gender transition, I worked diligently with a legal team to ensure every document was updated from ‘M’ to ‘F,’ including my birth certificate,” Jenner stated.

She further elaborated that although all her documentation, including her passport and global entry, was accurate, an issue emerged when her passport expired and was subsequently renewed.

Jenner, known for her support of Trump, attempted to rectify the situation independently by submitting official documentation to the State Department.

“I did everything necessary,” Jenner remarked, highlighting that she even sent a hard copy of her corrected birth certificate. “Yet, they returned it with ‘M’ still indicated, without making the change.”

It comes after Trump signed an executive order stating that only two genders will be recognized and that government-issued identification documents should reflect a person’s sex ‘at conception.’

‘What do I do?’ she added. ‘This is a safety factor.’

After her attempts failed, Jenner said she appealed directly to Trump.

‘I was in Mar-a-Lago two months ago, [and] wrote a letter explaining all of this to him, how it’s affecting me and a lot of other people,’ she said.

‘Unfortunately, he wasn’t there that weekend. The Secret Service guy said he could get it to him, put it on his desk and stuff.

‘I haven’t heard from him. He’s kind of busy right now. My gender marker is not big on the issue, OK?’

Despite the situation, Jenner made clear she was not criticizing the president.

‘I’m not blaming him whatsoever. I love the guy, and I love what he’s doing,’ she said.

The issue comes after Trump signed an executive order on his first day back in office declaring that the United States would recognize only two sexes, male and female.

‘Across the country, ideologues who deny the biological reality of sex have increasingly used legal and other socially coercive means to permit men to self-identify as women,’ the order states. ‘This is wrong.’

Following the order, the State Department moved to suspend processing passport applications from Americans seeking to change their gender marker.

Jenner said she complied with all requirements but was still unable to have her passport corrected.

Other high-profile transgender figures have reported similar issues.

Euphoria star Hunter Schafer previously said her passport had been amended to reflect her sex at birth, rather than her gender identity, after submitting paperwork.

An estimated 476,000 transgender adults in the United States lack identification documents that accurately reflect their gender marker, according to the Williams Institute.

Mismatched identification can create complications when traveling, passing through security, or verifying identity in everyday situations.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Caitlyn Jenner’s representation for comment.
