A 16-year-old girl was taken into custody on Bernier Way in Green Valley, while the driver eludes capture.

The pursuit began on Delvin Way in Bonnyrigg, traveling through Ashcroft before reaching Green Valley.

Witness to the crash, neighbor Tom Tran observed the entire ordeal.

“I heard a bit of a loud bang, followed by cops screaming and thought, ‘That’s not normal’,” Tran told 9News.

“Two people ran out, one initially ran down the way but a cop pulled in front of him, he turned around, his friend ran down the other way.

“I’m surprised he (the driver) didn’t hit anyone’s house.”

Officers caught up with the 16-year-old passenger minutes later.

Resident Fudhail Abdul saw the arrest.

“I just saw a bunch of cops coming around with a big dog, I saw (the police) taking someone inside the car,” he said.

The car was allegedly stolen from George Street in Waterloo on July 31.

The search for the driver is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
