A Friday night concert by The Chainsmokers in San Jose, California, prompted a major emergency response after 14 attendees were taken to the hospital.
The electronic music duo, made up of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, was performing at the outdoor venue Discovery Meadow when firefighters were called to the scene a little more than three hours after the show began.
In a post on X, the San Jose Fire Department said crews responded at 8:22 p.m. to reports of “multiple patients requiring medical attention.”
“SJFD immediately requested an Ambulance Task Force, two additional advanced life support fire units, and a Battalion Chief to manage the incident and provide additional medical resources,” the department said in a follow-up post.
Officials said 14 ambulances were dispatched to the venue, with all 14 patients transported to nearby hospitals.
Fire crews also assisted with traffic control around Discovery Meadow before the department’s resources returned “to service at approximately 10:34 p.m.”

The police department told NBC Bay Area that patients were taken to the hospital over medical concerns including ‘suspected alcohol intoxication and drug-related issues.’
10 of the individuals were transported to the hospital amid the last 30 minutes of the concert, police told ABC 7.
In footage shared by the publication, a line of ambulances and firetrucks could be seen parked along the streets near the concert.
The San Jose show began at Discovery Meadow at 5pm, with The Chainsmokers also performing the following day on Saturday at the Encore Beach Club located at the Wynn in Las Vegas.
Daily Mail has reached out to reps for The Chainsmokers as well as the San Jose Fire Department for comment, but has yet to hear back.
The electronic DJ and production duo are set to hit the stage once again in Las Vegas at the Wynn on September 19 and September 25.
Later this year, the pair are slated to travel for a three-day tour in India beginning in Mumbai on December 18.
Taggart and Pall will then venture to Delhi on December 19 and then a final stop in Bengaluru on December 20.

The Chainsmokers have been keeping busy this year aside from taking to the stage, and recently dropped a new German single titled Inundauswendig.
The track is in collaboration with German rapper Makko.
Earlier this year in May, the duo also released an EP titled Love Is Kind in collaboration with Oaks.
The EP contains a total of five tracks including Already Know, Echo and Five Past Three.
‘A few months ago we made Echo, then we made another song, and another and another,’ the duo penned on Instagram in April while announcing the EP to fans.
‘I can’t remember the last time we had a creative flow like this. Tbh this followed a period of feeling really stuck in the studio. Maybe we had too many ideas about what 2026 could sound like for us.’
As some of their past hits such as Roses reached new audiences in 2026, Taggart and Pall admitted to being left in a ‘weird place creatively.’

They added, ‘We are still working on the answer to that question and I think we are getting close. Making this EP helped a lot…’
The Chainsmokers began to gain recognition following the release of their 2014 track #Selfie.
