A chilling find in southwest Fresno has further complicated an already unsettling homicide investigation. Authorities have uncovered a second body from a canal, deepening the mystery surrounding the case of a murdered woman and a missing man.
On Tuesday, the Fresno Irrigation District contacted police after spotting what looked like human remains trapped against a concrete barrier in a canal near Glenn and Webster avenues.
In response, officers, along with teams from Fresno Fire, the Fresno Sheriff’s Department, and American Ambulance, arrived at the scene. They successfully retrieved the body of an adult from the water.
According to investigators, it seems the remains had been in the canal for quite some time. However, authorities have yet to identify the deceased or determine any connection to the prominent homicide case that has captured the city’s attention for weeks.
This canal is part of the same waterway where, on May 10, the body of 50-year-old Georgiana McGhee was found near Neilson and Hughes avenues, approximately 4.5 miles from the latest discovery.
The canal is part of the same waterway where 50-year-old Georgiana McGhee was discovered on May 10 near Neilson and Hughes avenues, about 4.5 miles away.
McGhee’s death was later ruled a homicide.
Police have arrested 48-year-old Boshay Ware in connection with her killing.
During a recent press conference, Fresno Police Chief Mindy Casto said the violence stemmed from a dispute among people who knew each other.
“These people all knew each other. It wasn’t random. It wasn’t a street encounter. These individuals were all associates,” Casto said.
According to investigators, McGhee was severely beaten before being placed in the canal.

Police also said 55-year-old Jerome Saldivar was attacked during the same incident and has not been seen since May 10.
“Georgiana was severely beaten before being placed in the canal by Boshay Ware, and also, Saldivar, Jerome Saldivar, was severely beaten,” Casto said.
Authorities have been unable to locate Saldivar and fear he may be critically injured or dead.
“We are still unable to locate Jerome Saldivar. We know that he is injured, possibly deceased or in need of help,” Casto said.
Investigators believe the violence may have been triggered by a dispute involving an RV trailer registered to Saldivar around the time he vanished.
Casto also noted that Ware does not have a significant history of violent offenses.
“Interestingly, Boshay Ware does not have an extensive criminal history. He has a conviction for a disturbance and some type of maltreatment of animals, and some property crimes. But no previous violent crime history,” Casto said.
While the newly recovered body was found in the same canal system tied to McGhee’s killing, investigators have not confirmed any connection between the discovery and the homicide case.
