Ballad Health has announced plans to construct a new hospital in the town of Unicoi, Tennessee, to replace the original Unicoi County Hospital, which was devastated by Hurricane Helene in 2024. Construction on the new facility is slated to commence this spring, with a projected timeline of two years for completion. According to a press release from Ballad Health, the new hospital will feature a layout similar to the previous one.
