PIERSON, Fla. – A man was shot by his co-worker Friday evening in Pierson, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

Around 6:20 p.m., deputies arrived at the 600 block of Glenhaven Avenue and found the victim, who was conscious and alert, sitting in the driver’s seat of a minivan, according to a social media update from the sheriff’s office. The report indicated that the man’s co-worker allegedly approached the vehicle before shooting him and then fled the scene.

A body-worn camera recording released by the sheriff’s office shows a deputy applying pressure to the man’s wound until emergency medical personnel arrived. He was then transported to a hospital, where he is in serious but stable condition and is anticipated to make a full recovery, the post detailed.

The shooter had not been located as of around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, the post states.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
