He is currently being held in the Santa Clara County Main Jail without bail.

After an attempted rape of a 17-year-old teen, Derek Jamal Boykin is facing sexual assault charges.
A man clad in white pushed a youngster up against a fence and then wrestled with her, according to the video. Boykin was allegedly chasing her purse at the time, according to police.
However, upon further examination of the footage, the male can be seen hurling the girl to the ground and straddling her.
After other bystanders had stepped in to help the girl, the man walks away. Perhaps averting a catastrophic event.
“Others who were in the neighborhood and people who were mindful of their surroundings helped to help solve this incident and avoided anything possibly even worse from happening,” San Jose officers claimed.
Meanwhile, the victim’s grandmother has stated that the girl is still in great shock after the incident. She has not been named.
For now, Boykin remains in the hand of custody with no bail.
