Tragedy struck in Newark on Wednesday night when gunfire broke out at a recording studio, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to two others, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

The shooting took place at Platinum Sound, a studio situated on the ground floor of an apartment building nestled between a hair salon and a supermarket on Clinton Avenue, as reported by ABC7. Witnesses recounted that the usual music emanating from the studio was abruptly overtaken by the sound of gunfire at approximately 8 p.m.

Authorities confirmed that one man was declared dead at the scene, while another succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Two additional victims were wounded during the incident and taken to a nearby hospital, where they are currently in stable condition. The specific details of their injuries have not been disclosed, and the identities of the victims remain unknown.

Following the shooting, a heavy police presence was observed in the vicinity of the recording studio, with officers maintaining their position throughout the night. Preliminary investigations suggest that the shooting might have been a targeted attack.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this violent event.
