According to reports, Erika Kirk sought assistance after discovering that the liberal site Jezebel had reportedly hired witches to cast a curse on her husband, just two days before his assassination.

The 36-year-old widow was profoundly troubled by the story, which suggested that witches were paid on Etsy to place a curse on her husband Charlie, aged 31, as stated by Megyn Kelly.

The Kirks were so alarmed by the situation that they called in a Catholic priest to reverse the curse on the evening before Charlie, a conservative commentator, was fatally shot at Utah Valley University, Kelly disclosed on her YouTube show on Tuesday.

The media personality said ‘Erika and Charlie Kirk heard about these curses, and that news genuinely rattled Erika in particular… She was scared.

“Erika and Charlie were worried enough that they reached out to a friend, who was said to be a Catholic priest, to come over and pray with them over Charlie the night preceding his murder,” Kelly mentioned.

Kelly added: ‘Why torture a family like this? A Christian, believing family. Why do this vile thing to a young couple?’

The Jezebel article, published on September 8, was titled ‘We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk.’

After Kirk was murdered two days later, the news website issued a statement clarifying the timing of the post and announcing it was removed.

Erika Kirk reportedly felt unsettled by an article from Jezebel alleging that the site’s author had paid witches to curse her husband Charlie shortly before his assassination.

“Erika and Charlie Kirk learned of these curses, and it genuinely unsettled Erika, especially… She was frightened,” Megyn Kelly shared on her YouTube program.

‘This story was published on September 8,’ the website said in the statement following the death of Kirk, a close ally of Donald Trump who played an influential role in rallying young Republican voters.

The outlet continued: ‘Jezebel condemned the shooting of Charlie Kirk in the strongest possible terms.

‘We do not endorse, encourage, or excuse political violence of any kind.’

‘There actually are demons in this world, calling on the spirit world, in particular the  devil’s spirit world, can actually have real-world consequences. It’s not something to mess with… It’s not a game, it’s literally evil.’

The original article, written in a first-person narrative by an anonymous author, mentioned being able to purchase a ‘curse as easily as I can buy a phone charger.’

It explained in detail the different services provided on Etsy in terms of witchcraft.

The author subsequently said Charlie was one of the ‘downsides’ of the internet, citing his politics.

‘Maybe it’s his obsession with telling women what to do or his aggressively large head, but the far-right podcaster’s presence is more irritating than most,’ the article said.

The author posed the question: ‘Are you interested in punishing Kirk for the years of regressive rhetoric he’s shouted at America’s youth and anyone within earshot?

‘Here at Jezebel, we’re about to find out if there’s a spell for that.’

Describing Charlie, the author said that he ‘debates college kids for sport, pops up on Fox News, and founded the right-wing conspiracy theory factory Turning Point USA.’

They conceded a moral ‘gray area’ in cursing someone they never met, adding: ‘I want to make it clear, I’m not calling on dark forces to cause him harm.’

The author cited a number of small inconveniences they hope Charlie would experience such as ‘an inexplicable zit;’ malfunctioning broadcasting equipment and ill-fitting apparel.

The author said they hoped ‘to ruin his day with the collective feminist power of the Etsy coven would be my life’s greatest joy’.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Jezebel for comment on this story.
