‘I’ll happily collect it’: Escaped prisoner taunts police by saying he will claim £500 reward offered for his arrest

An escaped prisoner has taunted police by saying he will hand himself in to claim the £500 reward offered for his arrest. 

Sussex Police offered £500 for information leading to the arrest of Curtis Harrison, 32, who was imprisoned for breaching a restraining order.

The 32-year-old, who has links to Uckfield, Crawley and Tunbridge Wells, violated the terms of his release. 

Sussex Police force posted a wanted poster on their official Facebook page showing Harrison’s mug shot and details on how to contact police with information leading to his arrest.

An account using Harrison’s name and photographs posted a public comment under the post, writing: ‘I’ll happily collect it £500.’

One other comment of his read: ‘Pay me the £500 I’ll hand meself in,’ ITV reports.

The broadcaster also reported that another user on the platform commented directly to the account, and said: ‘Curtis Harrison, I’ll make a deal with you. Tell me where you are and I’ll give you the £500, promise.’

Curtis is said to have then replied: ‘Nah, you got pics of cats.’ 

Some comments have since been removed from the post, and it is not yet clear if the wanted man is still at large.

Sussex Police have been approached for comment. 

Harrison has been described by the police as white, about 5’10” and of medium build. He has dark hair and facial hair.
