In a groundbreaking move for the hospitality industry, a unique gaming hotel is set to open, featuring an esports arena, a variety of arcades, and vibrant nightclubs.

Dubbed Atari Hotels, and inspired by the legendary video game brand, this new establishment will debut in Phoenix, Arizona.

Developed by Intersection Development in collaboration with Atari, the hotel aims to redefine hospitality for enthusiasts of gaming, pop culture, and sports, as detailed in their announcement.

Spanning an impressive 90,000 square feet, the hotel will blend nostalgic elements with cutting-edge technology.

Guests can unwind in high-tech rooms and take advantage of ‘creator studios’ designed for content production.

The hotel will also feature a massive esports and concert venue with a capacity for over 2,000 attendees, in addition to offering a wide array of immersive bars, dining options, and retail experiences.

People reported that the new hotel would boast nightlife spaces as well as an oversized pool to be used for ‘high-energy parties and gatherings’.

Construction is set to begin in 2026 and the hotel hopes to officially open in mid to late 2028.

Atari Hotels, themed around the iconic video game company, is set to launch in Pheonix, Arizona.

Jordan Taylor, Partner at Intersection Development, said: ‘Atari Hotels was born from the idea that hospitality could be as interactive as gaming itself.

‘Our Reg A fundraise and community ownership model reflects that vision, and gives gamers, pop culture fans, Phoenix locals, and investors a rare chance to help shape the first immersive gaming hotel in the Western Hemisphere.’

Architecture studio Räkkhaus is behind the design of the venue.

The company is ‘known for creating innovative and sustainable spaces that are deeply connected to their local culture and community’.

The hotel has 19 suites and 72 rooms – reflecing the year of 1972, when Atari was founded.

Sticking to its gaming theme, the hotel will feature elements of classics including Atari’s Asteroids and Pong, as well as Tetris by Nintendo.

Räkkhaus’ creative director Zac Cohen told People: ‘Our goal was to fuse architecture with interaction — not themed design, but pure spatial innovation.

‘A tower defined by motion, responsive surfaces, and a frame that glows with its own internal logic.

‘This is placemaking at a new scale, a building that will be truly unique in the world.’

The new development is looking for between $35 million to $40 million (£26m-£30m) in funding.

It currently has $14 million (£10.4m) invested and has now opened it up to the public to give others the chance to partner with the hotel.

To benefit from the chance of ‘real estate ownership’ as well as ‘preferred returns’ and ‘exclusive experiences,’ members of the public have to invest a minimum of $500 (£370).
