SAVANNAH, Ga. () — ‘s tribute to breast cancer survivors, the 4th annual Healing Heroes Fashion Show, took place Saturday with a sellout.

The fashion show serves to remember those who have passed and celebrate those who have overcome breast cancer. This year, 180 attendees filled the venue at the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion.

Fifteen individuals were commemorated with their photos displayed on banners to honor their fight. ‘s own Tarcia Bush took part as a model in the show, paying tribute to her sister, Tia, who courageously battled breast cancer until her death in 1998 at the age of 31.

Symenthia Shuman, a model in the show and a breast cancer survivor, noted that advancements in technology have significantly improved and encouraged both men and women to consult with doctors and receive treatment.

“I cherish my Buddy Check 3 because it saved my life,” Shuman stated. “I am thankful I detected it timely, underwent chemotherapy, radiation, had surgery, and was ultimately declared cancer-free.”

The event featured a performance by the Esther F. Garrison School for the Arts Dance Ensemble and a presentation from Chatham County Sheriff Richard Coleman.
