Glamorous Duke Influencer Accused of Elaborate Deception Scheme

When Angel Victoria Murdock, a former Temptation Island cast member, started chronicling what she described as her life inside Duke University’s Physician Assistant Program, viewers quickly took notice.

Over the next two years, Murdock, 26, built an audience of more than 40,000 followers by posting “day in the life” clips, school-focused updates and “get ready with me for class” TikToks that appeared to offer a polished look at life as a Duke PA student.

Now, however, the reality TV alum turned social media personality is facing a wave of scrutiny after accusations surfaced claiming the academic journey she promoted online may not have been real.

Several Duke students have alleged they never encountered Murdock on campus, in lectures or at any official university-related events, despite her repeated posts suggesting she was enrolled in the program.

The claims gained traction last week after a person identifying herself as a recent Duke University graduate alleged in a viral Reddit thread that Murdock had never actually attended the school.

The graduate, who requested anonymity but provided Our News Outlet with evidence of her own Duke enrollment, said the situation immediately struck her as unusual. “My suspicions were immediately raised because this was last year when we were already halfway through the program, and I thought it was odd that I had never seen her,” she said.

According to the student, one classmate attempted to interact with Murdock on social media, only to be blocked shortly afterward.

“[Murdock] stopped making TikToks and kind of disappeared off social media for a while after that, so we let it go, thinking maybe she just stopped pretending,” the graduate told Our News Outlet.

‘It wasn’t until she popped up again last week with her graduation photos that we were like, “Oh, this girl is taking it all the way to the finish line,” and that’s when we knew she had to be stopped.’

She pointed out that their class was small, with only about 90 people enrolled.

Kiera Lee, a recent graduate from the Duke University PA program and the 2026 class historian, reiterated her claims.

She told Our News Outlet that since it is such a small program, everyone knows everyone, including those in the grade above.

As the class historian, Lee added that she was responsible for keeping records, taking class photos at events and running the class social media page.

She told Our News Outlet that she ‘knows all of her classmates by name’ and never saw or heard of Murdock at the school.

When Our News Outlet searched Murdock’s name in the list of registered PAs under the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), her name did not appear.

The influencer was also nowhere to be found in the Duke University 2026 class photo, and her name was not called in the school’s 2026 hooding and certificate ceremony.

Duke told Our News Outlet in a statement: ‘We unfortunately cannot provide information to you without written permission from them. We cannot confirm or deny if the student attended Duke.’

Since the story began to circulate on social media, Murdock deleted her Instagram account and set her previously public TikTok account to private.

‘We had asked around about her to other classmates, and literally not one single person could say that they knew her or ever saw her,’ the Duke student who had asked to remain anonymous told Our News Outlet.

‘We have an [an electronic mailing list] as well to communicate things happening in the program, events, deadlines, etc. and when we searched for Angel, her e-mail was nowhere to be found,’ she added.

According to the source, she and her fellow classmates also noticed some inconsistencies on Murdock’s social media posts.

‘She flashes a PA student badge in one of her videos, and that’s not what they look like,’ the Duke alumni alleged.

‘The master’s hood she has on in her grad photos is the wrong color, and her cap has a 2026 emblem on it that the real ones don’t.’

At one point, Lee, who was documenting her own journey in the program on social media, claimed that Murdock started following her on Instagram and posting similar content to hers on her page.

‘Every week I’m posting what rotation I’m in, what I learned that week and everything, and suddenly she’s on the same rotations that I’m on,’ Lee alleged.

‘That’s not the way it works, like everyone is on different rotations at different times,’ Lee said.

The Duke University PA program is 24 consecutive months long. The first half of the program is dedicated to preclinical studies, while in the second half, students complete 10 clinical rotations.

Murdock recently shared an array of graduation photos online, claiming that she had graduated with the class of 2026.

In alleged screenshots from Murdock’s since-deleted posts that were obtained by Our News Outlet, Murdock was seen posing in a black dress and yellow graduation sash on Duke’s campus.

‘Today, I get to look back and realize that every late night, every sacrifice, every setback and every prayer was leading me right here,’ she wrote in the caption alongside the ‘graduation’ photos. The posts have not been verified.

Her message continued: ‘Looking back, I can see his hand in every step, even in the moments I didn’t understand. What once felt impossible is now a testimony of His faithfulness. I’m walking into this next chapter with gratitude, purpose, and faith in what He has planned for me. Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies – completed.’

According to another alleged screenshot of a post that was originally shared to her Instagram Stories, Murdock smiled outside of the Duke PA school wearing navy blue scrubs.

While many of her social media pages have been deleted, Murdock’s YouTube channel is still up, and it includes a video filmed last year that showed her ‘studying’ and getting ready for school.

In one segment of the video, she was seen using a stylus on an iPad and typing away on her laptop.

She then panned the camera to a page of her ‘notes,’ where she appeared to have written information about various diseases and ‘case studies.’

At the end of the clip, she told the camera that she had to head to school, and walked out the door with a lunchbox and an energy drink in hand, wearing plum-colored scrubs.

In a separate video that was posted to her YouTube channel two years ago, she could be seen wearing navy blue scrubs in her car, while telling the camera that she was on her way to work.

In this video, she was also wearing long acrylic nails, which PAs are typically not allowed to wear during clinical rotations in hospitals or during their physical exam labs.

Recently, Murdock was featured in her friend dental hygienist Tajah Ferjuste’s, YouTube vlogs, talking about her achievements.

‘I just want to say how proud I am of my friend, right. I have witnessed her, y’all, go through one of the hardest healthcare programs,’ Ferjuste said in the video.

‘She is in PA school right now, she’s about to graduate… and about to get her big girl job, like, life is moving so fast for her, but in the best way.’

In the video, the two also spoke about how great it is to have a career to be able to fall back on.

‘I graduate in two weeks, I’m so excited,’ Murdock said in the video.

‘The PA school that I’m in right now is a very stressful and very competitive program, so for the last two and a half years, I’ve just been grinding and working at the same time, studying, thousands page PowerPoints, test on Friday, every single week, like, that’s what we have to go through,’ she said.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Murdock for comment.

Murdock starred as a ‘temptress’ on season one of Netflix’s Temptation Island, which premiered last year.

‘The thing that I want people to know is that our class is amazing,’ Lee told Our News Outlet of her graduating class at Duke, adding that they have raised ‘thousands’ of dollars for the community.

Lee said that she didn’t want her class to be remembered for this scandal.
