A pair of “quick-thinking” passersby used fire extinguishers to put out a small fire Sunday in front of a business near Point Loma, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said.

The fire was reported about 4:40 p.m. on Scott Street near Shelter Island Drive, the fire department said.

Video posted to the department’s Twitter page showed the two good Samaritans extinguishing the fire outside the Satellite Phone Store while smoke billowed in the air.

The fire was extinguished by the time fire crews arrived.

The cause was under investigation. No further information was immediately available.

Staff writer David Hernandez contributed to this report.
