Gwyneth Paltrow made a rare remark about being ‘stepmom’ to her husband Brad Falchuk’s kids this week.

On Saturday, the Goop founder, 52, posted a heartfelt birthday tribute to Falchuk’s adult daughter, Isabella Falchuk.

‘Happy Birthday my snizzle,’ the Oscar-winner wrote in her Instagram stories sharing a recent photo of the 21-year-old. 

‘You have taught me so much about love,’ the Emma star wrote, adding, ‘I am lucky to be your stepmom.’

Paltrow welcomed Izzy and her younger brother Brody into her heart when she married Falchuk, 54, in 2018. 

Falchuk shares his two children with his ex-wife, Suzanne Bulnik, whom he divorced in 2013 after some 20 years of marriage.

In a social media post labeled Summer, Paltrow featured various photos from her family’s beach outing, which included images of Izzy and Brody, both 19, as well as Paltrow’s kids, Apple, 21, and Moses, 19.

The actress shares her two with ex-husband Chris Martin.  

The influencer discussed some mistakes she made in forming a blended family on her Goop podcast in April where Falchuk joined as a guest. ‘We went through some really rough patches,’ the Avengers star shared with her husband.

‘One of the most profound lessons I’ve learned from my relationship with your daughter, which is now wonderful, is that there was a testing phase,’ she stated.

‘She was testing me at the time to see at what point I would reject her.’

To prevent being seen as an ‘evil stepmother,’ the actress and businesswoman opted for a nurturing approach, as she conveyed to the Glee co-creator.

‘I aimed to be a supportive presence for her, always showing love and forgiveness, so if she acted out, she would ultimately see that my intentions were genuine, and I was not attempting to take you from her,’ she clarified.

As with most step-parents, Paltrow said she struggled with discipline. 

‘I thought that in my case, if I assert my boundaries or my expectations around manners, or anything like that, it will exacerbate the situation,’ she said. 

Paltrow admitted if she could, she would do things differently. 

‘If I look back at my mistakes as a stepmother, I should have just treated them both like my kids way faster, like, I was too worried about everyone’s feelings, in a way.’
