Gypsy Rose Blanchard has publicly criticized Ken Urker’s sister, Autumn Urker, two weeks after Ken’s death.
“I’m tired of being quiet,” Gypsy said in an Oct. 13 Instagram video. “I’m going through the stages of grief, and right now, I’m going through anger. So, this might be a video I might regret later.”
In a video, Gypsy spoke about what she described as months of tension with Autumn before Ken was discovered dead at his Louisiana home on Oct. 1.
“It’s disturbing how tabloids and media outlets picked up on her BS just because they were related,” said Gypsy, who shares daughter Aurora with Ken. “Instead of focusing on the fact that a child lost her father, I lost a partner, a mother lost her son.”
She accused Autumn of using the tragedy for financial gain, adding, “It’s disgusting to see a family member take this as an opportunity to cash in because she didn’t make some money to get to Louisiana. And she was never here. She was never here. I spent the entire time with Ken’s family.”
Gypsy, 35, also emphasized how meaningful that time with Ken and his relatives had been to her.
“The most important thing that I want to say is that I really loved him and he was a really good person,” Gypsy said. “Secondly, I want to make a point that just because someone is a relative of someone, does not mean that they are privy to any part of that individual’s life—Autumn wasn’t close with Ken and Ken wasn’t close with Autumn.”
She added, “I tried multiple times to make peace with her and it was not working out.”
Autumn previously told the Daily Mail that Ken had struggled under the intense public attention surrounding his relationship with Gypsy.
“He had to sleep with a gun every night,” Autumn said in an interview published Oct. 8. Text messages reviewed by the Daily Mail reportedly showed Ken saying he kept the weapon for protection after receiving death threats connected to his relationship.
Autumn also said her brother felt “humiliated” after prison phone calls between Ken and Gypsy were recently leaked. Gypsy was serving a seven-year sentence for the 2015 murder of her mother, Dee-Dee Blanchard.

During one call from 2025, Gypsy—who had by then been released—described to an incarcerated friend an angry incident that allegedly followed her discovery that Ken had written a note to a former girlfriend.
“I go grab a knife in the kitchen, and I go to that headboard, and I stab the motherf—king headboard,” Gypsy said. “And I carve ‘wh—e’ in the headboard.”
What Happened to Ken Urker?
Ken was pronounced “dead upon arrival” at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on Oct. 1, a spokesperson for the Lafourche Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Oxygen.
An incident report stated that Ken was found in bed, “cold to the touch,” with his “face and his arms” appearing blue.
Investigators also reported finding drug paraphernalia, a firearm and “a brown powdery substance” near him.
“The handgun on the night stand was holstered laying next to two shot glasses and a syringe,” the report stated. “Nothing else inside of the bedroom appeared to be disturbed or moved.”
The investigation remains open while authorities complete toxicology testing. Gypsy has said she believes Ken died from a drug overdose.
“I don’t know if it was intentional or not,” she told People. “He was not in a good state of mind lately.”
Gypsy also addressed the relentless public attention Ken experienced during their relationship.
“The cruelty directed toward him was something no human being should have to endure,” she said. “I believe the tremendous weight of that scrutiny and harassment had a profound impact on him, and I hope his passing serves as a reminder that there is a real person behind every screen, every headline, and every comment.”
