Ken Urker, the fiancé of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, has died at age 33.
Urker was pronounced “dead upon arrival” in Louisiana on Thursday, Oct. 1, the Lafourche Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Law enforcement officials said his death remains under investigation.
Blanchard and Urker first became engaged while she was incarcerated. The couple later separated, and Blanchard married Ryan Anderson before eventually reuniting with Urker.
The couple share a daughter, Aurora Raina Urker.
Oxygen contacted Blanchard for comment but has not received a response.
Why Was Gypsy Rose Blanchard in Prison?
Blanchard was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to second-degree murder for her role in the 2015 killing of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
She was released early on parole in December 2023.

Blanchard’s former boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of first-degree murder in Dee Dee’s death.
What Happened to Dee Dee Blanchard?
Blanchard’s history has since become widely known.
Her mother had falsely claimed that Gypsy suffered from illnesses including leukemia, muscular dystrophy and developmental disabilities. Dee Dee is suspected of having Munchausen by proxy, which Kaiser Permanente describes as “a mental health condition in which a caregiver makes up or causes an illness or injury in a person under their care, such as a child.”
The alleged abuse continued until Blanchard became involved in a plot to kill her mother. She asked Godejohn, her online boyfriend at the time, to help her. He later stabbed Dee Dee 17 times.
Gypsy Rose Reveals Chilling Words Nicholas Godejohn Said Before Murder
During a June appearance on the We Need to Talk podcast, Blanchard recalled the chilling words Godejohn allegedly said to her mother before the killing.
“She had asked, ‘Who are you,’” Blanchard said. “And he responded, ‘I am death.’”
Moments later, she said, “I heard screaming. It was a horrible sound. It was screaming. It was shock.”
