Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will attempt to win their first ever Club World Cup this year.

The English side secured their place in the competition after winning the Champions League back in June – where they defeated Serie A side Inter Milan 1-0 in Istanbul.

This year’s tournament, which has already kicked off, has seen one big shock already. Saudi champions Al-Ittihad crashed out of the Club World Cup after a 3-1 drubbing by Al-Ahly in their own back yard.

Mail Sport breaks down everything you need to know ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Urawa Red Diamonds.

Team news

Guardiola has included several big names for their trip to Saudi Arabia as they look to pick up their second piece of silverware of the season.

City drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace at the weekend and will be desperate to get back to winning ways.

The likes of Matheus Nunes, Mateo Kovacic and Kalvin Phillips could all feature from the off.

Stefan Ortega may get his chance to impress in goal ahead of Ederson.

Urawa Red Diamonds may name an unchanged team to the one that defeated Leon in the last round.

Alex Schalk, who scored the only goal in Urawa Red Diamonds’ win over the Mexican side, will be itching to start from the off after being named on the bench in their last game.
