Hugh Sheridan has commemorated their beloved father Denis Sheridan six months after his passing.

The actor posted an old video clip with their father to Instagram on Wednesday, with the pair singing Frank Sinatra’s I’ve Got You Under My Skin.

‘6 months today since Dad left the physical and became one with the universe,’ Hugh, 36, wrote in reference to the clip.

The Packed to the Rafters star then recalled a dream they had where Denis appeared.

‘I had a dream the other night, I knew I was dreaming and I was in the future, I asked my sister what year it was and she laughed and said ‘it’s 2032′, it was so strange and so real,’ Hugh said.

‘I spotted my dad Denis (alive), amongst a crowd and thought ‘wow they’ve learned how to bring people back!?!’ I chased him but I lost sight, I was fighting not to wake up but, I did. It was so surreal.’

Hugh admitted they were a ‘little deflated’ upon waking up from their dream but was still ‘grateful’ to see their father ‘even from afar’.

‘A friend messaged me today and said ‘I don’t know if this makes sense, but you’re looking for your father? You’ll find him in ‘love’, not in ‘sorrow’ & he’s at peace, he’s with you now,’ the singer continued in the caption.

‘I said, thank you that does make sense,’ the singer added at the end before sharing the hashtags :#alwayslove, #dreams, #whenyouwishuponastar and #missyousomuch.

Denis’ final performance was in March, at a tribute show held in his honour at the Swing a Ding Den at Adelaide’s Arkaba Hotel.

Hugh joined him on stage for his swansong.

Denis’ terminal cancer diagnosis was the main reason why Hugh proposed to ex-fiancé Kurt Roberts in March.
