Inside Cassie Ventura’s Quiet New Life After Sean “Diddy” Combs

The last public sighting of Cassie Ventura came at a far more difficult moment in her life.

Nearly nine months pregnant with her third child, the singer traveled to a Manhattan courthouse for Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 2025 criminal trial. Combs was ultimately found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and sentenced to more than four years behind bars.

Now, Ventura’s circumstances look dramatically different.

More than a year after delivering four days of emotional testimony about her yearslong relationship with the rapper, Ventura has largely withdrawn from public view. Aside from occasional glimpses of family life on Instagram Stories and an appearance at the F1 Barcelona Grand Prix in June, she has kept a low profile.

That changed earlier this month when the 40-year-old singer returned to the red carpet at the London premiere of MobLand, arriving arm in arm with her husband, Alex Fine. Her appearance came just days after Combs’ projected prison release date was moved forward to February 5, 2028.

Ventura appeared composed as photographers gathered, offering a steely gaze that friends say reflects a year spent rebuilding her life and reclaiming her confidence.

“Her therapy and recovery have been about freeing her from fear,” a source exclusively told Our News Outlet.

“She is happy and has realized that the people involved in her abuse thought she would be too ashamed to speak up.”

While testifying, Ventura told jurors that disputes with Combs regularly turned violent. She said he knocked her down, kicked her, dragged her and stomped on her.

She also recounted the assault at a Los Angeles InterContinental hotel in 2016. Surveillance footage of the incident, showing Combs striking Ventura and pulling her along a hallway, was shown to the court.

Ventura further testified that Combs allegedly threatened to release intimate videos as a means of controlling her. She said she was coerced into drug-fueled sexual encounters with male escorts, known as “freak offs,” which Combs watched, recorded and directed.

Ventura told the court that she felt degraded and horrified during the encounters, using drugs to dissociate from experiences she said she did not want.

According to her testimony, Combs’ control over her life began after they met when she was 19 and he was 37, shortly before she signed with his Bad Boy Records label.

She also discussed the civil lawsuit she filed against Combs in 2023, accusing him of years of abuse. The case was settled for $20 million within 24 hours of being filed. On the witness stand last year, however, Ventura said she would “give that money back if it meant [she] never had to have freak-offs.”

Combs, 56, pleaded not guilty. His attorneys argued that the sexual encounters were consensual, while acknowledging that he had been violent in some personal relationships.

The music mogul was ultimately acquitted of the most serious allegations, including sex trafficking and racketeering, but convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Despite the pain of exposing their private relationship in court—and the online ridicule that followed—the insider said Ventura does not regret speaking publicly.

“The trial was one of the toughest chapters of her life, but she doesn’t regret standing up for herself because she receives thousands of messages from sexual assault survivors thanking her for giving them the courage to expose abusers,” the source said. The singer is nevertheless “concerned about the jokes people make about the assaults.”

Fans hoping for her glossy comeback to the music scene now that the trial is over,  however, may be waiting in vain.

Ventura released one studio album, a mixtape and a handful of singles during her years on Bad Boy, with her 2006 breakout Me & U shooting to No 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remaining in the Top 40 for nearly five months.

But, according to our source, she has no intention of reviving her music career.

‘She has no interest in returning to the music industry because she feels it was complicit in her abuse,’ the source said. ‘She isn’t focused on music at all.’

They added: ‘She doesn’t think the industry is a safe space for her, so a lot of the records she recorded are being shopped to other artists.’

Instead, Cassie’s world has narrowed: family first and trusted people only – more strangers are permitted behind the velvet rope.

‘She’s living a quiet life with her family and is much happier,’ said another insider close to the star. ‘She has a tight inner circle and only keeps those who she trusts around her. She let go of a few people once she moved. She has a small team now.

‘She’s focused on her family and being a mom. Alex is super supportive of her and any decisions she makes. Yes, he’s careful what he posts on social media. She also has no plans to return to social media at the present time. She’s taking a social media break for now. She might not post again until the holidays or next year.’

Fine, 33, who plays Donnie in Paramount+ drama MobLand, is more than just the handsome man at her side on the red carpet, with our source claiming their partnership has become Ventura’s safe harbor.

The pair began dating in late 2018, shortly after Ventura’s split from Combs, and they married the following year.

They now share three children: daughters Frankie, six, and Sunny, five, and a son, born in 2025, whose name has not been made public.

The family has largely kept life behind closed doors since Ventura’s May 2025 testimony.

‘She is focused on her wellbeing, raising her kids and writing for leisure,’ our first source said.

And that quieter new chapter appears to be taking place far from Hollywood – and farther still from the man whose shadow once towered over her life.

In a legal declaration filed earlier this year, Ventura, who was born and raised in Connecticut, stated: ‘I reside outside of the United States. I do not intend to move back to the United States.’

‘She’s told friends that she has no immediate plans to move back,’ a source said. ‘She was getting death threats from the Diddy trial.

‘She’s hoping to put the past behind her. This is a new life for her – something she did not choose, never thought would happen but it’s what needed to be done because of her sharing her truth about Diddy.’

According to our first insider she also splits her time in Asia: ‘Her dad is Filipino, so she is there quite a bit.’

While Ventura may have put an ocean between herself and her old life, but Combs’ eventual release still looms.

He was initially due to be released on May 8, 2028, before the date was pushed back to June 4 amid allegations – denied by his attorney – that he drank homemade alcohol and made an unauthorized three-way phone call behind bars.

The date then changed again last October, when his projected release was moved forward to April 25, 2028, reportedly due to time credits under the First Step Act.

It has since changed multiple times, and now, the Bureau of Prisons listed February 5, 2028, as his projected release date.

Once he leaves prison, Combs is also set to serve five years of supervised release.

‘Cassie is doing really well since Diddy entered prison,’ said our second insider. ‘But of course she is terrified of what could happen when Diddy is released from prison. It’s something she tries not to think about because it causes anxiety.’
