Inside Ella Langley's country superstar makeover

Ella Langley may be one of country music’s fastest-rising stars, but the Choosin’ Texas singer’s road to the spotlight came with a striking style evolution.

Before the 27-year-old began making waves on the Billboard charts, she looked dramatically different from the polished performer fans recognize today.

A resurfaced TikTok video from 2022 has renewed attention on the Alabama native’s earlier look, showing Langley with a far more low-key, small-town image.

In the clip, she appears with soft brown hair rather than her now-signature bangs, and with little to no makeup — a sharp contrast to the glamorous country star she would become in the years that followed.

Online, fans have largely embraced Langley’s transformation. “She’s a country girl from Alabama! I love that she got her superstar glow up. She’s absolutely stunning,” one supporter wrote.

Another fan pointed out that fame often comes with access to a full glam team and a different lifestyle, commenting, “If I had a professional doing my makeup and hair, and had that income for luxury items, better food, etc. I would have a major glow up too.”

A third wrote, ‘Have you seen the before and after of Morgan Wallen? It’s the same with all artists. They all glow up when they get styling, hair, make up etc. Why are we just comparing women?’

Langley first started to lean into a more glamorous image with the release of her debut studio album Hungover in August, 2024.

Her luscious brunette bangs made their first appearance in the music video for her hit country song You Look Like You Love Me that year.

In an interview with Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, Langley admitted that getting bangs ‘changed my life’ and her career.

She also said that she never intended to debut the striking look, and that it happened organically after she tried to cut her own hair before a concert.

Another major factor in Langley’s makeover is Botox, which the star has been getting in her jaw to treat her TMJ for the past few years.

Botox in the jaw is known to change the shape of one’s face, and can help create a more V-shaped jawline.

Other major players behind Langley’s new look are her creative director Caylee Robillard and her stylist Stefani Colvin.

Together, the pair have helped create Langley’s ’70s-inspired country ‘n western wardrobe.

Colvin spoke to Country Living about Langley’s transformation and confirmed that she worked with the singer to help develop her signature look over the years.

‘I first started working with her more than three years ago, when she had maybe 100,000 followers,’ Colvin said.

‘We were trying to find her vibe and her vision and collaborate on what that would look like. Sometimes she’ll say, “I’m your Barbie doll,” and we’ll just play dress-up.’

Despite her small town roots, Langley isn’t afraid of experimenting with luxury designers.

‘It’s less about specific brands and more about the vibe. She loves Roberto Cavalli, both modern and vintage, and she also loves traditional Western pieces,’ Colvin explained.

She also admitted that Langley’s distinguishable style has helped the songstress breakthrough with her music.

‘People are realizing how much farther you can go when you have an identifiable brand,’ Colvin said.

‘Country music is being taken more seriously. Ella’s music would be successful regardless—music always comes first—but having a strong visual identity makes everything more powerful,’ she continued.

‘You can hear her music and think about her outfits, her glam, her creative direction, and her music videos. It all becomes one cohesive package. That’s something she invested in early, and it’s paying off.’

Langley is currently riding high on the success of Choosin’ Texas, which just spent its 20th non-consecutive week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

It’s now the second-longest running chart-topper in United States history, just behind Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You.

Langley currently has two other songs in the top ten of the Hot 100; Be Her, and I Can’t Love You Anymore with Morgan Wallen.

Her sophomore album Dandelion debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in April and is now the second best-selling album of 2026 so far.

It comes after Langley nabbed seven awards at the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards back in May.

The Hope Hull native was named Artist-Songwriter of the Year and Female Artist of the Year, while Choosin’ Texas claimed the honors for Song of the Year and Single of the Year.

In addition, Don’t Mind if I Do, Langley’s collab with Riley Green, was named Music Event of the Year.

In her speech for Song of the Year, Langley said she was ‘at a loss for words’.

‘I’m trying to get to say something but I can’t,’ an emotional Langley told the crowd as she set an ACM record for most wins in a year by a single artist.

The singer, accepting the honors for Female Artist of the Year, named three of the four women she was nominated against – Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert and Kelsea Ballerini. Megan Moroney was also nominated, but wasn’t named by Langley.

‘Thank you to the women in this category – to the women in this life. This is a weird thing to do,’ she said.

‘And today, I was having a strange day … I walked right into Lainey’s room and she hugged me.’

Langley continued, ‘And all of a sudden, here comes Miranda Lambert in her pink hat … Kelsea, thank you so much for lovin’ on me.

‘I would not be standing up here without the encouragement of so many women.’

She added, ‘Thank you to the women – I would not be standing up here without them – so, thank you.’

Langley also thanked her ‘family, for showing up and being weird as always’ and Jesus Christ ‘for letting me do this for a living.’
