Iranian Billboard Shows US Soldier Skeleton by Strait of Hormuz

A newly installed billboard in central Tehran depicts the skeleton of an American soldier lying on the rocky edge of the Strait of Hormuz, marking the latest image in Iran’s ongoing propaganda campaign.

In recent weeks, the Islamic Republic has sharpened its anti-US messaging, expanding a state-backed visual offensive with violent billboards displayed across the Iranian capital.

The billboard, put up earlier this month, shows a skeleton in a combat vest bearing a US flag patch on the sleeve, positioned beside the strategic waterway that separates the Persian Gulf from the Gulf of Oman and remains central to the conflict.

A large vessel flying the Iranian flag is shown moving through the vital passage, which once carried 20% of the world’s oil and has been restricted by the regime since the war began Feb. 28. So far, 18 US service members have been killed in the conflict.

Another billboard raised this month portrays the Statue of Liberty toppled over as crowds of Iranians celebrate while waving Islamic Republic and Shiite Muslim flags.

The enormous display looms over Tehran’s Revolution Square, where photographs show residents continuing with daily routines beneath the propaganda imagery.

The same square previously featured a giant poster of President Trump lying in a black coffin, his hands folded over his stomach, with Persian text over the casket reading: “We Kill Trump.”

A separate billboard showed Trump being choked by multiple hands, accompanied by the English-language warning: “Revenge is inevitable.”

The bloodthirsty regime has vowed revenge for the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in his Tehran compound by joint US and Israeli strikes on the first day of the war.

The fragile monthlong cease-fire between the US and Iran appears set to expire Monday, with no deal in sight to extend it — let alone end the war between the two nations.

Earlier this week, an adviser to the Iranian Parliament speaker suggested the regime’s strategy was to wait out Trump’s presidency until 2029 to negotiate.

“Trump will not reach an agreement with us,” said Majid Shakeri, advisor to Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

“We are getting along with him until his term ends.”
