Ivanka Trump dazzles in strapless gown at Xi Jinping state dinner

Ivanka Trump made a striking entrance at the White House state dinner honoring Chinese President Xi Jinping, wearing a pale blue strapless gown.

The 44-year-old showcased a dramatic neckline as she attended the elegant Washington, DC, gathering on Thursday night.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump hosted Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, in the East Room, where the two leaders delivered remarks.

Ivanka chose a $6,000 crystal-embroidered satin maxi dress from designer Georges Hobeika for the formal occasion.

The gown featured a structured corset-style bodice, lace-inspired embroidered scrollwork, detailed floral designs and sparkling crystal-fringed accents.

The mother of three emphasized her eyes with dark makeup and swept her platinum-blonde hair over one shoulder.

She attended the dinner with her 15-year-old daughter, Arabella, whom she shares with husband Jared Kushner.

Arabella, who speaks fluent Mandarin, looked polished in a sophisticated black backless maxi dress.

The mother-and-daughter pair posed for photographs with Tiffany Trump and Lara Trump, who also embraced glamorous evening looks.

Earlier on Thursday, Ivanka was also present for the arrival ceremony welcoming Xi Jinping and his wife, Madame Peng Liyuan, to the White House.

For that appearance, she wore another figure-hugging blue dress, pairing it with a matching jacket decorated with intricate white floral details.

The First Daughter finished the ensemble with layered white pearl earrings and understated white pumps.

Arabella accompanied her once again, while Ivanka wore her blonde hair in an updo with two loose strands framing her face.

She was seated beside Usha Vance, the wife of Vice President JD Vance, who welcomed the couple’s fourth child in July.

The lavish black-tie dinner ranked among the administration’s most high-profile social events, combining Washington glamour with an effort to ease long-standing geopolitical tensions between the United States and China.

Should Ivanka’s glamorous appearance at diplomatic events overshadow serious political discussions?

Behind closed doors in the East Room, Melania’s office said they personally orchestrated the evening’s extravagant arrangements, transforming the space with red linens, Reagan-era vermeil, and overflowing urns of crimson dahlias – a striking aesthetic that the First Lady notes ‘draws on the color red’s longstanding cultural significance throughout Chinese history.’

As the leaders and their guests dined, there were several performances, including military musicians and inauguration tenor Christopher Macchio setting a grand soundtrack.

Inside the dining room, guests raised glasses of Schramsberg ‘Blanc De Noirs’ for a symbolic toast, reviving the historic 1972 ‘Toast to Peace’ between Richard Nixon and Premier Zhou Enlai in China.

White House chefs fused classic American ingredients with subtle Asian flavors across a lavish multi-course menu.
