Joy Behar made her return to The View after a month-long absence caused by a shoulder injury, arriving on set arm-in-arm with Sara Haines.
The 84-year-old co-host returned Tuesday morning after dislocating her shoulder in the studio at the beginning of October.
“I mean, I went down hard, in this building. I dislocated my shoulder,” Behar told the audience as she took her seat on the show.
“I don’t know if that’s ever happened to anybody, but it’s worse than childbirth. I mean, I would have given up names to the CIA, that kind of torture, it was bad.”
Haines helped Behar to her place at the Hot Topics table as the audience erupted in cheers. Elton John’s “The B***h Is Back” played during her entrance.
Haines beamed as co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin warmly welcomed Behar back to the panel.
Behar said she was disappointed to have missed several major Hot Topics discussions, including President Donald Trump’s comments about Nicki Minaj.
“Even when I went down and went to hospital, the doctor didn’t even look at my a** like that, with such love and affection,” she joked, referring to Minaj’s appearance at the president’s midterm campaign rally on Sunday, where the rapper praised Trump.

“President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time, and I will continue to support you forever and ever,” Minaj said before adding, “if you run again, I will support you again.”
Before Minaj spoke, Trump commented on her derrière, saying she had a “beautiful a**” and encouraging her to stand up and show it off.
Goldberg then offered a more heartfelt welcome, saying, “All jokes aside, it is, you know, we’re together a lot, and so when one of us is not around, you feel it.”
Haines shared that sentiment, describing the panel as a family that experiences life’s “ups” and “downs” together.
“Things happen, you can’t help it,” Behar said. “I couldn’t help that I went down.”
Behar’s representative previously told Page Six: ‘Joy caught a heel backstage but is on the mend and should be back on the show mid next week.
“Her shoulder wasn’t broken and is back in place and she is excited to be back at the table as quickly as possible.”
When Behar was injured, Goldberg joked: “Despite sharing a birthday with Vladimir Putin, she does not have the Russian plague. She’s still healing after dislocating her shoulder.”
“What we’re saying is, get better fast so we can celebrate you back here on The View,” Goldberg added after Behar missed celebrating her birthday on air because of the injury.
