Stephen Miller became one of Washington’s biggest stories Friday after President Trump elevated him to chief of staff. Now his wife, Katie, is drawing renewed attention of her own.
Rather than retreat from the spotlight, Katie has celebrated her husband’s rise—at one point calling him a “sexual matador”—while presenting herself as a fiercely supportive wife. Her public campaign came after reports that she had spent weeks urging allies to lobby for Stephen’s promotion.
During a Fox News interview last year, the 35-year-old joked about her husband’s romantic appeal after the host suggested she was the “envy of all women.”
“The sexual matador, right?” she replied. She went on to describe Stephen as “an incredibly inspiring man,” saying his morning speeches—filled with declarations about defeating the left—were enough to get her energized for the day.
Katie also embraced the attention on social media after Politico reported that she had directed several people to contact Trump and suggest Stephen as the replacement for his former boss, Susie Wiles.
“BREAKING: Wife supports husband,” Katie wrote on X in response to the report Friday evening. “If your wife doesn’t do this, find a new one,” she added.
Stephen Miller is now taking over Wiles’s role, a position long considered nearly untouchable because of her standing as Trump’s trusted longtime aide. His appointment is expected to bring an even greater level of influence for Katie.
Already a prominent MAGA figure, she has built relationships across the upper levels of the Trump administration. Together, the Millers are emerging as one of the most powerful political couples in Washington during the final two years of Trump’s presidency.

Katie launched a podcast for conservative women last year, with Vice President JD Vance among her first guests. Other senior administration figures, including Marco Rubio, have also appeared, with Stephen helping arrange some of the interviews.
Away from the microphone, she has taken on the role of an unofficial MAGA social secretary, organizing gatherings at the couple’s home on a military base outside Washington.
The guest list has reportedly included many of the administration’s most prominent figures, among them Rubio, Scott Bessent, Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel.
She has also hosted celebrations for Karoline Leavitt’s birthday and Todd Blanche’s confirmation as attorney general.
“Love her or hate her, when she says she’s going to do something, she does it far better than you would ever expect,” Leavitt told Vanity Fair. She praised Katie’s elaborate but family-oriented parties, saying she “goes over the top” and invites everyone.
Katie, however, pushed back against Vanity Fair’s comparisons between the Miller home, the court of Versailles and the Kennedys’ Camelot.
“We pay rent for our home at the fair market rate, and we also pay for most maintenance and repairs,” she told the magazine last month.
She said her gatherings were simply birthday parties for her children and an effort to create a community for their family. According to Katie, “Legacy Media” had portrayed that goal unfairly.

Her podcast, designed as a conservative counterpart to “Call Her Daddy” but covering more than politics, has continued as the couple faces hostility from critics.
The Millers moved to a military base after protests erupted outside their former home in Arlington, Virginia. Demonstrators displayed posters containing their address, accused Stephen of “crimes against humanity” and left messages written in chalk on the street.
The day after Charlie Kirk’s assassination, a protester outside the house reportedly told Katie: “I’m watching you.”
Last month, a Massachusetts man was arrested and charged with cyberstalking after allegedly bombarding her with dozens of threatening calls and messages.
Born Katie Waldman, she grew up in Florida before moving to Washington, where she worked in communications for a Republican senator. She later joined the Department of Homeland Security during the controversy over family separations at the border in Trump’s first term, before becoming Mike Pence’s press secretary.
She met Stephen Miller in 2018, and the pair married two years later at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, with Trump among the guests. They now have four children, including a baby born in June.

During Trump’s second term, Katie worked as an adviser to Elon Musk at the Department of Government Efficiency. She continued working for Musk after his bitter public split with Trump and his return to the private sector.
While Katie was still working for Musk, the Tesla chief unfollowed Stephen Miller on X.
In July 2025, Katie confirmed that Musk remained her employer, saying: “My paycheck still comes from him.”
The next month, she launched her own podcast and argued that conservatives needed to engage women if the MAGA movement and Trump’s political legacy were to endure.
She later faced criticism after the midterm elections when it emerged that she had not voted.
At 8:14 a.m. on Election Day, Katie posted on X: “Vote like your life depends on it.”
Several hours later, at 3:56 p.m., she wrote that Election Day made her want to have more children so conservative voters could outnumber what she called “America-hating leftists.”
After Republicans suffered major losses, she acknowledged that she had not cast a ballot herself.

Speaking to CBS News host Norah O’Donnell, Katie said mothers were often too occupied with raising and caring for their children to make it to the polls.
“I did not vote in Virginia because, in Virginia, when you vote, you dox your own address,” she said. “I prefer my own safety and security over giving that up.”
She also attributed the Republican defeats to the quality of the candidates, while rejecting the idea that the results represented a referendum on the Trump administration.
Now, as Stephen Miller assumes one of the most influential jobs in the White House, the couple is presenting a united front—and he faces the task of reversing his party’s fortunes.
