Katy Perry has officially announced that she is off the market, revealing her new relationship status during a recent performance.

The 41-year-old pop sensation, known for hits like “Firework,” confirmed her romantic involvement with 53-year-old former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at her Prague concert on Thursday.

During the show, Perry encountered a fan holding a sign proposing marriage—an offer she had humorously declined at a previous concert in London—prompting her to clarify her current relationship status.

Addressing the audience, she remarked, “This guy wants me to marry him and he’s even got a ring,” in a TikTok video captured by an attendee.

She emphatically declared, “No! I’m seeing someone else, for crying out loud,” amidst her ongoing Lifetimes Tour.

Speculation about Perry and Trudeau’s relationship began in July, and the couple recently made their romance public while in Paris over the weekend.

It comes after Trudeau acknowledged his blooming relationship with Perry via his Halloween costume on Friday.

He was seen in an Instagram post dressed as a shark while his son Hadrien, 11, was a wounded surfer after getting bitten by said shark.

‘Ready for Halloween with Hadrien: he’s the surfer, I’m the shark (to his left),’ said Trudeau, who served as Canada’s prime minister from 2015 to 2025.

He added, ‘We built the costume together – a little father-son Halloween teamwork.’

The costume was a clear reference to Perry’s fame Super Bowl halftime outing in 2015, as the singer’s backup dancers became a popular meme in their shark outfits.

The politician and the Roar artist were first seen in late July dining at the Montreal restaurant Le Violon.

The Firework singer and fiancé Orlando Bloom announced they were splitting earlier this year. They are parents to daughter Daisy, five.

Trudeau and his ex-wife Sophie Grégoire split in 2023; they are also parents to daughter Ella-Grace Margaret Trudeau, 16.

Meanwhile Perry made a subtle Instagram debut with Trudeau when she uploaded a post on Tuesday in celebration of her 41st birthday.

The Dark Horse songstress shared photos and clips as she excitedly rung in turning one year older.

The performer – who officially turned 41 on October 25 – included one clip which showed her blowing out candles to a cake topped with sugary icing.

And as she blew out the candles, Trudeau was briefly spotted far in the background with a big smile on his face as he cheered on the pop star.

‘Justin has had a lot of upheavals in the past couple of years, both in his professional-political status and at home with the split from Sophie,’ an insider told People earlier this week.

The source said the politician ‘is a much happier person now’ with things sorted out for the better.

‘Stresses are greatly diminished,’ the insider said. ‘And he is intrigued with Katy. They have fun together, laugh a lot, talk about everything.’

‘His life is much improved, and his relationship with Katy has had a lot to do with it.’

An insider in Canadian politics told People that Perry and Trudeau are ‘very much a couple’ and ‘have been seeing each other as often as possible.’

‘Obviously, she’s busy, but so is he. Yet he goes the extra mile to be with her when possible. Especially when it’s important.’

Sources recently told Us Weekly that Perry is ‘really into’ her connection with Trudeau.

‘Katy is really into it. She’s very happy,’ the insider shared. ‘She’s trying to keep it low-key, and they’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicize this relationship.’

The insider added: ‘Their friends think they are a good match, but he actually hasn’t met a lot of her friends yet.’
