Kelly Clarkson has unveiled a dramatic new look following her departure from her daytime talk show.
The 44-year-old singer has traded her long brown hair for a short, edgy blonde bob.
Clarkson debuted the haircut onstage during Providence College’s annual Late Night Madness event in Rhode Island over the weekend.
The shorter style allowed the “Since U Been Gone” hitmaker to perform freely without her long locks getting in the way.
She had first revealed the transformation during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers two weeks earlier.
“No extensions. I chopped my hair off recently!” Clarkson told host Seth Meyers.

Fans were quick to praise Clarkson’s makeover, with one writing, “She’s in her ‘short hair don’t care’ era!”
Another supporter commented, “I think Kelly looks great with her real hair. I don’t think she looks older. I think she looks great.”
Although Clarkson has embraced a fresh style, viewers are still seeing her with long hair on season 30 of NBC’s The Voice. The current episodes were filmed before she cut her hair.
Last week, Clarkson also said she is avoiding the dating scene out of consideration for her two young children following the death of their father.
Clarkson married her manager’s son, Brandon Blackstock, in 2013. The couple went on to welcome daughter River, 12, and son Remington, 10.
Blackstock later succeeded his father as Clarkson’s manager.
Their marriage broke down in 2020, leading to a bitter, drawn-out legal dispute. Their divorce was finalized in 2022.
Blackstock died last August at 48 after a private battle with skin cancer. Clarkson was among those who attended his funeral.

Last week, the star disclosed that she has not welcomed a new man into her life.
‘My kids right now, I think – there’s a lot behind that – but I think that would rock their boat a little bit,’ she explained to Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers during an appearance on their podcast Las Culturistas.
‘And honestly, this is not a bulls*** answer: I love my life right now. It just got to where I am not exhausted at every point of it,’ noted the American Idol winner, whose daytime talk show aired its final episode at the end of August.
The singer observed that ‘if you’re gonna be in a relationship, you have to be willing to give some of your time up, and I am unwilling.’
As news spread of Blackstock’s shocking death, it emerged in his obituary that he had struck up a romance with Clarkson’s ex-assistant Brittney Marie Jones.
Jones and Blackstock had settled into a quiet life in Butte, Montana, living in the mountains and running a rodeo in the nearby tourist destination Bozeman.
‘After more than 20 years in the music business, Brandon found his way back to the mountains and the cowboy way of life he always wanted to live,’ his obituary read.
