Kim Kardashian has faced online backlash over an X post shared after Election Day, with critics interpreting it as a celebration of a decisive Democratic victory despite her close friendship with Republican Ivanka Trump.
The 46-year-old prison reform advocate was accused of appearing insensitive toward Trump after Tuesday’s midterm elections shifted both the House and Senate in the Democrats’ favor.
“GOOD MORNING AMERICA,” Kardashian captioned the post. She was, in fact, appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America to promote the new season of her drama series All’s Fair. However, without that context, some viewers interpreted the message as a political celebration.
Fans quickly mocked her. One X user wrote: “Do you think she posted this before or after she checked in on her best friend Ivanka?”
Another commenter added: “Oh wtf lol, it’s comical how you lack the ability to read the room.”
A third person quipped: “You look good but we know you MAGA.” Another critic posted a photo of Kardashian alongside President Donald Trump, writing: “We didn’t forget, bb.”

Kardashian and Ivanka have developed a close relationship in recent years, with the fashion mogul working alongside her father during Kardashian’s prison reform campaign.
In 2018, Kardashian spent an hour at the White House, meeting President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and speaking with Trump about Alice Johnson, who was serving a life sentence in prison.
Johnson had been imprisoned in 1996 for drug dealing and money laundering after 15 accomplices testified against her and had their own charges dismissed. She played a minor role in the cocaine operation and had no prior convictions.
Following the meeting, Kardashian left the White House and went to Kushner and Ivanka’s home in Washington, DC.
Johnson was later granted clemency and received a full presidential pardon.
Kardashian has also drawn criticism for her close friendships with fellow billionaires Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez.
Those relationships developed after the Hulu star made clear in 2017 that she did not support Trump’s presidency.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, she suggested that her daughter, North West, who was four at the time, could make a better US president.
“Anyone can run the US better,” she said in August 2017. “My daughter would be better.”

Kardashian turned heads in New York City on Wednesday while promoting the second season of All’s Fair
Kardashian shared the post while heading out in New York City to promote the second season of her Hulu drama, All’s Fair.
The reality star highlighted her figure in a fitted burgundy dress with a netted design.
The sleeveless outfit revealed a low-cut black bra and featured a white underlay skirt.
She completed the look with open-toe perspex heels, while her signature dark hair was parted down the middle and styled in a sleek blowout.
The multihyphenate has been working closely with stylist Law Roach for her recent public appearances.
For Wednesday’s Good Morning America appearance, Roach dressed her in an asymmetric peach-toned Rabanne haute couture dress from the Spring 1989 collection.

Roach also helped Kardashian arrange the opportunity to wear the late Elizabeth Taylor’s emerald and diamond necklace, a move that attracted criticism.
While working in Rome last month, Kardashian visited the Bulgari store, where she was able to view the multimillion-dollar jewels at close range.
Taylor’s former husband, Richard Burton, gave her the necklace and matching earrings for her 30th birthday.
Because of the pieces’ value and fragility, a store employee handled them while wearing white gloves.
This week, Kardashian shared footage from the store visit and photoshoot with her Instagram followers, describing the experience enthusiastically.
“I remember talking to her before she passed away and asked all about these jewels and the stories behind them. Thank you @luxurylaw and @bvlgari for making all of my wildest dreams come true,” she wrote in the caption.
“Elizabeth Taylor just rolled over in her grave,” one person commented online after the post.
