Birmingham man arrested on drug trafficking charges

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the Sheriff’s Neighborhood Enforcement Team executed a search warrant on Wednesday, which resulted in an arrest and seizures.

The search warrant was executed in the 2000 block of Avenue B Ensley. A suspect fled from the scene on foot, but he was quickly taken into custody without incident.

The suspect has been identified as Lamar Kevontay Slaughter III, 25, of Birmingham. Slaughter was charged with drug trafficking, and he is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.

JCSO seized methamphetamine, fentanyl and marijuana products. They also seized multiple weapons during the search.
