The situation appeared to unfold inside the Target store on State and Madison streets on the first floor near the escalators, ABC7 was told.

According to bystanders, a skirmish between a security guard and a suspect took place, resulting in another woman being hurt while a suspect fled. ABC7 observed paramedics assisting her out of the store, seated in a wheelchair.

One witness, who is visiting from Houston, Texas, describing me what he saw.

“That guy was behaving wildly. They were wrestling initially and continued until they were on the floor. The security guard managed to restrain him,” a witness reported. “The store employees focused on their duties, guiding everyone out, while an officer was visible on the floor.”

ABC7 is awaiting further updates from Chicago police regarding the investigation, including the condition of the security guard involved and details on any arrests made.

No further information was immediately available.
