On Wednesday, Iran announced it had launched cruise missiles towards the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier. This action came shortly after Iran’s military dismissed any prospects of reaching a truce with the United States.
The Fars News Agency, closely aligned with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that the missile strike compelled the American naval fleet to alter its position.
There was no immediate comment from US Central Command (CENTCOM), which has previously used social media to challenge Iranian assertions of successful strikes against the Lincoln and other American military assets.

In remarks from the Oval Office on Tuesday, President Trump informed reporters that Iran had launched 100 missiles at an American aircraft carrier, described as one of the largest ships globally.
“Of the 101 missiles fired, every single one was intercepted,” Trump stated.
