Lindsay Clancy juror was Karen Read supporter, unearthed posts show

A juror in the Lindsay Clancy case who pushed for a not guilty verdict had also voiced support online for Karen Read during Read’s closely watched murder trial, according to resurfaced social media posts.

The revelation emerged after three women from the 12-member jury that deadlocked in Clancy’s trial spoke publicly about deliberations in an interview with NBC Boston.

All three women said they believed Clancy should have been found not guilty by reason of insanity, and they described tense, heated clashes with a male holdout juror who refused to support acquittal despite what they viewed as reasonable doubt.

Facebook posts from an account matching one of the jurors, Kellie Farina, show she was a vocal backer of Read during her 2025 murder trial and had been active in a group called “Free Karen Read.”

Read was ultimately acquitted in the blockbuster case involving the death of her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe.

After the verdict came down, Farina posted: “Over and Out Page. Massachusetts Jury did their rightful duty today. Karen’s free.”

Her posts also took aim at former Massachusetts State Police trooper Michael Proctor, the now-disgraced lead investigator in the Read case, whom she called a “POS” — short for “piece of s**t” — and she blasted special prosecutor Hank Brennan as a “freaking joke.”

Prosecutors had alleged that Read, while intoxicated, backed her SUV into O’Keefe on January 29, 2022, and drove away, leaving him to die on the snow-covered front lawn of Brian Albert, another Boston police officer.

She long maintained her innocence and insisted that she was framed by his cop friends.

While her first trial ended with a hung jury, Read was acquitted during her second trial when multiple jurors said the ‘sloppy investigation’ into O’Keefe’s death left them with too much reasonable doubt.

Proctor was fired after the first trial for misconduct when it was revealed that he sent text messages to friends, family and co-workers calling Read a ‘whack job’ and wrote that he hoped she would kill herself.

Another point of contention in Read’s trial was that a federal agent who was at the party at Albert’s house, Brian Higgins, acknowledged at trial destroying his phone and SIM card afterward and disposing of them in two different locations on a military base.

Farina’s posts in the ‘Free Karen Read’ echoed the theories that she was framed by the police. Those claims have been unproven.

Clancy, 36, was on trial for killing her three children, Cora, five, Dawson, three, and Callan, eight months, at her Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023.

She admitted to strangling her children, but pleaded not guilty to murder by reason of insanity, citing postpartum psychosis.

During five weeks of grueling testimony, prosecutors argued the killings were intentional and well planned, not the work of someone who had lost control.

The 12-person jury, made up of nine women and three men, spent more than 37 hours deliberating if she was guilty of murder, manslaughter, or not guilty. They were not sequestered during deliberations.

Ultimately, Judge William Sullivan was forced to declare a mistrial on Friday when it was revealed that a lone juror refused to find her not guilty despite having reasonable doubt.

During her interview with the local news station after serving on the Clancy jury, Farina said prosecutors lacked compassion and were cold.

‘I know it’s their job, but in a case like this, you expect a little bit,’ she said.

Jurors also heard the 911 call Clancy’s then-husband made when he found their children strangled.

Farina described Patrick’s 911 call as ‘the most horrific thing,’ and revealed the jury played it again in the deliberation room and cried.

‘We were just like, “My God, the desperation.” The despair in his voice was… It’s something that will stick with me,’ Farina said.
