Trump to undergo check up amid scrutiny over health
Today, Donald Trump is set to undergo his routine annual medical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, amid heightened attention to his health status.
Approaching his 80th birthday next month, Trump often portrays himself as more vigorous and physically fit than his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden. Biden, who left the presidency last year at 82, also faced scrutiny regarding his ability to handle the responsibilities of the office.
However, Trump’s health has come under the spotlight recently due to photographs revealing a blotchy neck rash, coupled with last year’s images showing swollen ankles and a bruised hand, which appeared to be concealed with makeup.
Trump, who celebrates his birthday on June 14, became the oldest individual to begin a presidential term when he commenced his second tenure in January 2025.
Despite the concerns, he keeps up an active lifestyle, particularly with his regular golfing sessions. During a recent event at the Oval Office, he humorously remarked on his exercise habits. His health secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., noted that Trump walks nine miles (approximately 14.5 kilometers) each time he plays golf.
“When I am not using the cart,” Trump quipped.
