Liverpool’s performance is not easy to assess.
The statistics do not make particularly positive reading for the Reds. Most notably, Andoni Iraola’s side failed to register a single shot on target.
Yet anyone who watched the match will have seen how much danger Liverpool created, especially during the first half. They repeatedly unsettled Arsenal and looked capable of causing problems in the final third.
The main issue was their lack of quality with the decisive pass or finish.
Liverpool produced a host of promising attacks, but too many broke down at the crucial moment. Bradley Barcola was among those guilty of failing to turn an encouraging move into a clear chance.
That has been a recurring theme throughout Liverpool’s season. Despite possessing such a dangerous attacking lineup, they have scored just 11 goals in nine Premier League matches.
If they can improve their finishing and overall end product, they could quickly climb the table.
Even so, Iraola and his players can take plenty of encouragement from the performance.
