NATIONAL CITY —
A man was fatally stabbed early Thursday in National City, and police have arrested a woman in connection with the killing, authorities said.
Officers responding to a report of a stabbing shortly after 6 a.m. found the victim on L Avenue near East Plaza Boulevard bleeding profusely, National City acting Lt. Ken Springer told OnScene TV. He said the man had been stabbed at least one time.
Officers provided first aid to the victim and paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he died.
Video shot by OnScene showed yellow police tape around the parking lot of a nearby Motel 6. It also showed a trail of blood leading from the motel across the street to a sidewalk and a utility box where the victim was found.
Springer said the motel was part of the crime scene. “The Motel 6 is connected… We are trying to learn more about what happened,” he said.
Police arrested a woman in connection with the attack after others in the area pointed her out to officers, Springer said. No information about the woman was immediately released.
Police closed down traffic on L Street as they investigated the incident.
